Andrea Rossi has been quick to get back to work following the 28th October E-Cat test in Bologna and has been answering questions in his usual flamboyant manner. He has claimed that the first plant, tested by Domenico Fioravanti and subsequently purchased by a mystery buyer on Friday, is already on the way to the customer. The unit was already in a shipping container which showed considerable foresight. More surprisingly, he added that more than two further plants have already been sold in the short time since the Bologna test. He has estimated 3 months for delivery for the second unit for which, he claims, production is already under way.

It is presumed that these are advance sales and Rossi anticipates production of between 30 and 100 units in the first year. Whilst still not wishing to identify his original customer, he has stated that the subsequent purchase is by a different client.

Rossi also informs us that he will be working in the United States, hiring people in Miami, Manchester, and Boston. He says that the industrial strength plants are ready for manufacturing, but that they do not yet have authorisation from government regulators for the small household units to be sold.

When asked if he could name any of his customers he replied, somewhat cryptically, “I want not our Customers assailed by the puppets moved by their puppeteers. Let the plant go to work, then they will reveal themselves automatically. Probably you did not understand that there is a war against us.”

Rossi is clearly convinced that there are people out to smear his project at every opportunity and, given some of the comments fired in his direction, you can perhaps understand his defensive stance. There are two groups of sceptics: Those who just do not believe that the science behind Rossi’s E-Cat is credible, and those who choose to defer judgement until firm evidence is produced. If Rossi’s latest claims are true then it cannot be too long before a customer is named and the greater exposure will surely hasten the need for the scientific evidence that the E-Cat really can supply the energy of the future.
